April Favorites

  • I read the book Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara and was so inspired by the stories and lessons in it! It is about how the author took a restaurant in NYC from good to being named the best restaurant in the world. The subtitle is “The Remarkable Power of Giving People More Than They Expect,” and this goal can be applied in any job, by anyone. It is definitely worth a read (or listen). It would make a great graduation gift for someone who is soon going to work.
  • I bought some Jo Malone Frangipani perfume to try and LOVE it! The key notes of jasmine, frangipani (which I found out is plumeria) and sandalwood make a terrific combo. The smell of jasmine has always been one of my very favorite scents. This would make a great gift for Mother’s Day!
  • Ellie Holcomb knocked it out of the park with her album, All of My Days. The seven songs are inspired by the Psalms. The music is soothing and a beautiful way to fill your mind with God’s word.
  • Annie F. Downs published a Let’s Read the Gospels: A Guided Journal to complete as she read through the Gospels on her podcast in April, and I loved taking the time to think about the five questions each day and thoughtfully write my answers. The pages leave plenty of room where you could repeat the reading plan and journal several times.
  • I bought these black pants for work from Quince and they are so comfortable! The quality seems really good for the $40 price point, and they come in several colors. They were a win.
