August Favorites

I blinked and August was gone! I am so excited that fall will soon be here! I love sharing a few of my favorite things with you each month, in hopes that they might be something you would enjoy, too.

  • I have been a fan of Mizuno running shoes for at least 10 years. Back when I used to run, they always felt the most supportive to me. While I can no longer run, I do work out several times a week, so when it was time to retire my old pair of Mizunos, I wondered if one of the newer brands might be better. I ordered another brand, but knew immediately when I tried them on that I wouldn’t like them. Back to my favorite brand I went, and ended up finding this cute pair on sale this month. I have already worn them on several occasions and love them!
  • My hair had been feeling heavy and unclean, so I tried the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Triple Detox Shampoo. It claims to remove the buildup from product, pollution and hard water, and it worked so well for me! My hair felt squeaky clean after using it and has felt cleaner since. I will probably use it about once every 1-2 months.
  • I unexpectedly really enjoyed the book Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin this month. It’s about two friends, Sam and Sadie, who connect as kids over video games, and the story weaves the tale of their friendship and creative partnership over decades of success and hardships. I am not a huge fan of video games, but this story was so incredibly written that I fell in love with the characters and their lives. (Please note: It is not a Christian book and does include some darker or sensitive elements.(
  • I ordered the Method Vanilla + Raspberry hand soap when Target had a sale this month, and we LOVE it! The bottle is a rose gold aluminum, so it is pretty and the scent is fantastic. We will definitely buy this again.
  • I love playing games, and Hand and Foot (a variation of Canasta) has a special place in my heart because we have played it in our family for over 20 years. I had the pleasure of playing it again this month and was reminded why it is one of my favorite games. Here are the rules. You can play with 4 or 6 people. What fun memories can be created over games!
