While our world faces the urgent pandemic of the Coronavirus, many of us sit gratefully by, doing our part to stay at home and not spread the virus. Our gratitude goes out to the doctors, nurses, and all of the essential workers who are keeping our country running.
My March favorites are things that I am finding joy or comfort in. I hope they brighten your day, too! Let me know if you love any of these as much as I do.
- You guys! If my blog had a theme song, this would be IT! I love Thomas Rhett’s new song, Be a Light. This is the lyric video, but he also sang it live on Instagram.
- Melanie Shankle’s newest book, On the Bright Side. Chapter 12, “The Bright Side of Life Giving You Lemons”, is especially timely. “It’s who we become in the messy parts of the waiting and the living and the worst moments that we never wanted or asked for that determine if we will be the people he created us to be.”
- I feel like I have to follow a recommendation for Melanie with a recommendation for a hair or skincare product. If you’re a fan of hers, you understand. 🙂 I usually try to buy more natural skin and hair products, but I recently used a Pantene Intense Rescue Shot and loved it. My hair has been feeling so dry and rough, but the Intense Rescue Shot brought instant smoothness and softness back. I will probably try to use these about once a month or so, and I could probably get two uses out of each tube.
- Working out has always been a favorite activity for me to relieve stress and feel stronger. My favorite class is Bodyflow by Les Mills, which you can try for free right now from the safety of your home! Getting outside is always a great idea, but there are also so many options right now for at home workouts. Gold’s Gym Amp app (through 5/31), Les Mills On Demand, Peloton app (90 day free trial for bike-free workouts), are Yoga With Adriene on YouTube are just a few of the free options I’ve seen.
- I don’t typically watch Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show (because I don’t stay up that late), but his At Home Editions are worth searching. Watching his adorable girls “helping” him is so funny! He is highlighting a different charity each night and encouraging viewers to donate to help during COVID-19. It is so great–just watch.
- Christy Wright hosted a fantastic 10-episode series called “Hope in the Chaos” on Instagram (saved in her highlights) and Facebook. She had a different guest on each day and it was so positive and faith-filled.
- Y’all know I love JJ Heller, and her new song showcases why. Wow!
Let me know if you enjoyed any of these, and share something you are finding joy and comfort in with me. Don’t tell me a bag of Doritos–I already know. Haha!
