Welcome to fall! I love this seasonal transition, when we have cooler temps and so many fun gatherings to look forward to. I’m back to share a few of my favorite things this month, in hopes that they might bring you some joy as well.
- I absolutely loved reading Taylor Jenkins Reid’s newest book, Carrie Soto Is Back, this month! It is about a tennis star who comes out of retirement to try to defend her record. While Carrie’s personality is very arrogant and abrasive, you can’t help but root for her. I loved her sweet relationship with her dad, who was also her coach. (Note: there is some explicit language.)
- This One Pot Chicken Parmesan Pasta recipe from Le Creme de la Crumb is one of our favorites! It also makes a great recipe to share if you need to take a meal to a family.
- You make think this is a strange item to share in my September Favorites, but the She Reads Truth Advent study went on presale this week and I ordered it right away. I love their studies because they are focused on God’s word, but they also offer a daily devotional and a weekly podcast that supplement the daily reading. They also offer a He Reads Truth version. Their Advent study is how I have chosen to prepare my heart for Christmas for the past two years. The study is different every year, and I love it! If you can’t order the book, they offer the reading plan on their app for a few dollars.
- I found the 13: A Taylor Swift Fan podcast this month and have been bingeing (and loving!) the episodes. The hosts deep dive into Taylor Swift’s music and life in fascinating conversations, breaking down her songs lyric by lyric or making connections to “Easter eggs” (clues) that Taylor leaves in various ways. The podcast has made me a bigger fan, and I’m so excited about Taylor’s new album that will be released in October!
