2023 Gift Guide

It’s almost my favorite time of year–Christmas! I love the fun decorations, reading an Advent devotional, gathering with family and friends, driving around looking at Christmas lights, good food, sharing of thoughtful gifts and our Christmas Eve church service.

I think it’s important to spend our dollars with companies that support our values when possible, so my gift guide includes businesses that fit into at least one of these categories: small business, Christian-minded, ethically sourced, charitable, or made with cleaner ingredients.

These links are not sponsored or paid. The companies or creators just interested me and met my qualifications for sharing them here. Using our dollars intentionally makes a difference.

I try not to repeat companies, so be sure to check my gift guides from prior years for more ideas!

For Her

  • Chic Ink Art – Sophie decorates beautiful trays, art, coasters and pots using an incredible alcohol ink method. These one-of-a-kind pieces would make a lovely gift!
  • Thistle Farms – This incredible mission-minded company helps women survivors of prostitution and exploitation. They sell a variety of products including candles, body products and essential oils.
  • Welcome Home: A Cozy Minimalist Guide to Decorating and Hosting All Year Round by Myquillyn Smith – I love Myquillyn’s practical and simple ideas for decorating without having to go out and buy a bunch of items. This would make a great gift for someone just married, new to living on their own, or who just needs some fresh decorating ideas and steps.

For Him

  • Harry’s – This company sells not only men’s razors and shaving products, but facial and body care products for men as well. I love that they donate 1% of sales toward men’s mental health care and give their employees paid time off to volunteer.

For Kids

  • So Happy To Know You by Annie F. Downs – This beautifully illustrated book celebrates the qualities that make people special, in an A to Z format.
  • Good Kind – This family owned business makes Advent blocks designed to help families remember the meaning of Christmas. Their Gratikube also looks like a fun way to encourage communication and gratitude toward God.
  • I’m Glad For What I Have by Rachel Cruze – This book has such cute illustrations and teaches kids that happiness comes not from more stuff, but from appreciating what we already have.

For Anyone

  • Dowdle Puzzles – These gorgeous puzzles would make perfect gift for the puzzle lover in your life! They feature puzzles that are location themed, Disney characters or other topics. Check out this beautiful nativity puzzle and The Little Mermaid puzzle!
  • Israel: Beauty, Light and Luxury by Tara-Leigh Cobble – This book includes beautiful photography of Israel and Biblical devotions. Right now, all book proceeds from TLC’s website are being donated to the Israeli Red Cross.
  • Rowe Casa Organics – This company sells a wide variety of clean, non-toxic, natural products including wellness, personal care, household and baby care products. The company supports an orphanage in India. Their products sound incredible!
  • New Braunfels Smokehouse – I have loved their smoked meats for years! Their peppered turkey jerky is a personal favorite, and the smoked cheddar and wagyu beef jerky also sound amazing.
  • Runamok – This family-owned Vermont company sells syrup and honey (including hot honey). My favorite is a gift I sent to friends last year – Sparkle Syrup!
  • The Foggy Dog – For a dog lover or your own dog, The Foggy Dog offers beautiful collars, leashes, bow ties and more accessories. Their toys and dog beds are stuffed with recycled water bottle fiber and they donate a pound of dog food to shelters for every order.
  • Burlap & Barrel Spices – This company has direct connections with small farms around the world to bring high quality spices to their customers. I love their Royal Cinnamon and think these spices would make a fun gift for anyone who cooks. The company was featured on Shark Tank!
  • Hon’s Honey – This is another company dedicated to helping women heal from trauma. They offer delicious flavor infused honeys and bath and body products. The Specialty Honey Flight sounds scrumptious!
  • Warther Knives – This family-owned company in Ohio has an incredible history of making knives for the past 100+ years! The knives are gorgeous!
  • Reduce drinkware – They offer affordable travel tumblers, mugs and water bottles in a variety of great colors. The drinkware has a lifetime guarantee and is made from steel or BPA-free plastic. The company also supports organizations focused on clean rivers, breast cancer and homelessness.
  • Marble Board Games – These nostalgic handcrafted game boards–including Chinese Checkers, Mancala, Solitaire, and more–would make a lovely gift.
  • Tree-Ripe Fruit – This company has been around for over 30 years, partnering with high quality farms around the US. I ordered a box of Satsuma Mandarins from them last year and was delighted by the delicious fruit. I just place another order from them again this year! All fruit and nuts are seasonal, so you just have to watch their site or sign up for emails to know when to order certain items.
  • She Reads Truth / He Reads Truth bible studies – I love this company and their mission to encourage people to read the word of God every day. Their advent studies are just fabulous, and they have other themed study guides that can be read at any time. The studies are purposefully simple.
