April Favorites

April is officially in the books! Doesn’t it still feel like we are living in a weird dream?

I have been clinging to things that bring me joy or help me during this time, and have taken to sharing some of these things in my weekly email to subscribers. You can subscribe here if you’re interested.

I love sharing some of my favorite things with you each month. I hope to inspire you, spread the news about great products, or help you in some way. Let me know if you try any of these and like them!

  • My family and I have watched almost all of Season 1 of The Chosen and we love it! It is a multi-season TV show about the life of Jesus. The show’s portrayal of the people and stories are extremely compelling, using humor and compassion to draw you in. I highly recommend it. It is free to watch, but must be downloaded through an app (which you can then play on your TV if you are tech-savvy enough). Or you can buy the DVD of Season 1.
  • Anne Bogel, aka Modern Mrs. Darcy, has a podcast called What Should I Read Next? where she interviews a reader and suggests three books for them on each episode. I have gotten so many great book recommendations from her podcast. She publishes a Summer Reading Guide that I look forward to each year. It’s coming out May 14, so be sure to sign up on her site before then if you’re interested in receiving it.
  • This Chicken Curry recipe has been on repeat at least once a month since I found it a couple of years ago. I puree the onion, as well as the tomatoes, and add some lemon at the end. It is definitely a family favorite!
  • My favorite clean beauty company, Beautycounter, launched a new product this month, the All Bright C Serum, and I am loving it! The formula includes antioxidants to protect the skin, while reducing dark spots and nourishing the skin with Vitamin C and turmeric. Yes, thank you! (Note: I am a Beautycounter consultant and will receive a small commission if you order through my site.)
  • A friend from church introduced me to a free app called In Reverse, and we have had so much fun playing it! It takes a minute to explain, so I’ll just say it involves singing and singing in reverse, and will cause so much laughter. Check it out.

I hope you get to enjoy some of my April favorites! I love getting recommendations, too, so what are some of your current favorites?

Have a great May!
