It’s that time of year again! The holidays are right around the corner, and I hope this fills you with excitement and joy like it does for me. I love celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ with my family and friends. I also love the decorations, food, traditions and gift giving of the Christmas season.
More and more, I want my dollars to speak for my values. I want to support businesses that are small, Christian-minded, and ethically sourced, as well as businesses that sell less toxic products and give back to others. For this gift guide, I tried to choose items or companies that fall into at least one of those categories.
Note-With the exception of Beautycounter (which I am a consultant for), these companies are not affiliates. I do not get paid for these recommendations; they are simply companies or products I have liked or would like.
For Her
Jewelry & Accessories
- The Shop Forward – I think the 4 Things Personalized Tote is so cute and customizable! The 4 Things Gratitude Journal would also be great for teens or someone starting a gratitude practice.
- Elisabeth Ashlie Jewelry – I love the Talia Studs and the Bali Tassel Earrings. These are very affordable and cute!
- In Blue Handmade – These leather accessories are made in NC and the company donates to Feeding America with every purchase. Check out the Crossbody Satchel.
- Allie + Bess Jewelry – their colorful bracelets are so cute! There are some great discounted options in their Last Chance section.
- Necklet – these magnetic necklace clasps are brilliant! They would be perfect for layered necklaces or for someone who can no longer clasp their necklaces by themselves.
Books
- Renew: Invite the Designer to Refresh Your Heart by Valerie Griffin – this is a beautifully written 6-week devotional for the woman needing to renew her spirit.
- The Joyful Life Magazine – this is a beautiful quarterly magazine for Christian women.
- 100 Days to Brave by Annie F. Downs – this is a great devotional for encouraging us to be courageous.
Self Care
- In the Weeds Natural Skin Care – I love the Not a Lip Balm Headache Pressure Point Stick and their Soy Candle scents sound heavenly!
- Just Ingredients – I love her Organic Frankincense and Jojoba Oil Face Serum.
- Beautycounter – I have been using Beautycounter for years and love them! The Lip Jellies and Hand Cream Trio are great sets to break up for stocking stuffers. I think the All Bright C Serum and Classic Eyeshadow Palette would make great gifts. (Note: I would receive a commission if you order through my consultant page.)
- Thistle Farms – This company has a fantastic mission: to help women survivors of trafficking, prostitution and addiction. Their Bath Soak sounds dreamy, paired with a candle and some Body Butter.
For Him
- An annual State Park pass (click here for Texas) or National Park pass
- In Blue Handmade – Check out the Leather Dopp Kit Travel Bag.
- Hill Country Woodshop – beautifully hand crafted cutting boards
- The Old Try – These printed art pieces look like they would be perfect in a “man cave”, office or college son’s apartment. You can search for state specific prints (link for Texas).
For Kids
- The World Needs Who You Were Made to Be by Joanna Gaines
- GraceFull: Growing a Heart That Cares For our Neighbors by Dorena Williamson
- Buena Onda Games – we LOVE these soft frisbee-like flying discs!
- Piccolina Clothing – I love their tagline: “For little ones who dream big”. You can find tees printed with trailblazing women from history, such as Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, astronaut Mae Jemison or pilot Amelia Earhart.
- Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus by Dusti Bowling – this is a terrific middle grade novel about a spunky girl born with no arms.
For Anyone
- The Chosen is a crowd-funded multi-season TV series made about the life of Jesus, and it is one of the best shows I’ve seen about him. While you can watch for free on the app, you can also currently buy Season 1 on DVD. This would be a perfect gift for someone who is not technologically savvy. It is great to watch with family.
- Simply Organic Bamboo – these sheet sets are so soft! I love the set we bought this year. They also have throw blankets.
- The Bible Recap by Tara-Leigh Cobble – this is a phenomenal guide to supplement a chronological Bible reading plan; Tara-Leigh explains each day’s Bible reading in a fun and easy-to-understand way.
- Enter Wild by Carlos Whittaker – Carlos discusses his struggle with anxiety and how it led to a greater faith.
- Hamilton: The Revolution by Lin-Manuel Miranda – a perfect gift for a fan of the Hamilton Broadway show!
