May Favorites

I feel like May flew by, after a loooong April. School is ending, summer is beginning, and businesses are re-opening! Things are looking brighter for everyone, I hope.

I am celebrating the one-year anniversary of my blog with a giveaway! I will randomly draw one name from my subscriber list on June 7 (to be announced in my email that day) and will mail the winner a gift as a thank you for supporting by blog. If you want to be entered into the drawing, you can subscribe here.

Alright, who’s ready for my May Favorites? I love sharing some of my favorite things with you each month!

  • During our time at home, we rewatched The Peanut Butter Falcon. This is high on the list of my all-time favorite movies. I love having characters to root for and laugh with. The story centers around a young man with Down Syndrome on a quest to find and enroll in a wrestling school who befriends a troubled, but kind, outlaw. This film is a treasure. It is rated PG-13.
  • On a short road trip to see family this month, my daughter and I listened to the audiobook version of Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus and we both loved it. It is a middle grade novel centered around an 8th grade girl who was born with no arms. It is sweet and funny, but also brings awareness about the constraints and tenacity of people who live with disabilities. If you have kids, it is a great one to read together and discuss. There is a sequel, but we haven’t read it yet.
  • I have been following Kate Bryan on Instagram (@k8_smallthings) for about a year or so and I just love her! She is a lifestyle and beauty blogger, so she shares fashion, hair and makeup tips on Instagram and YouTube. I love her hair tutorials, but her Instagram stories are my favorite. In addition to the helpful tips, she posts about her life and family in her Instagram stories. She is one of my favorite influencers to follow.
  • When I started trying to change our household over to more natural products several years ago, one of my first replacements was to use Young Living’s Thieves Household Cleaner for my kitchen/all-purpose/glass cleaner, and I continue to use and love it. If you are looking to start transitioning to non-toxic products, I recommend the Thieves line of products. As a bonus, it smells so good!
  • We found this super easy recipe for pretzel bites on Budget Savvy Diva and it has been a repeat treat for the last couple of weeks. So yummy, especially with a cheese dip! (Tip – we do NOT use that much baking soda, and they still turn out delicious.)

That’s it for my May Favorites! If you try any of these, let me know what you think. I hope June is spectacular for you!

I would love to hear about some of your current favorites. Leave a comment below and share what you’ve been loving lately!
