June Favorites

I am so excited to share my June Favorites with you! Thank goodness for the joy we can find in the small things these days. I hope sharing my favorites with you each month brings you some fresh ideas and things that will brighten your day.

  • I read Live Love Now: Relieve the Pressure and Find Real Connection with Our Kids by Rachel Macy Stafford this month, and loved it so much! She divides the book up into 3 parts: Be a Truth-Teller, Not a Taskmaster; Be an Encourager, Not an Enforcer; and Be a Guide, Not a Half-Listener. Rachel discusses some painful realizations that have helped her become a better parent, while providing practical advice. It is a must read for anyone dealing with kids, tweens or teens!
  • Melanie Shankle recommended this tank top on one of her Fashion Friday posts. I thought it was cute, so I ordered it and love it! The material is very soft and the sunflower is so cheery. For $17.99, I think it’s a win.
  • This song makes me so happy and the video is cute, too!
  • Our daughter has made this Vanilla Cake twice and it is my new favorite cake. It also accounts for at least 2 of my recently added pounds–lol. My aunt has already requested it for her birthday next year, after tasting it recently.
  • Emmanuel Acho has been putting out some awesome videos called “Uncomfortable Conversations With a Black Man”. He tackles tough race questions with honesty and vulnerability. These videos are worth watching. His guests have included Matthew McConaughey and Chip and Joanna Gaines with their kids. You can watch them here.
  • The Christy Wright Show is SO great! She backs inspiring encouragement to “create a life you’re proud of” with biblical truth. Her recent episode on appreciating our body is powerful. You can watch on YouTube or listen to the podcast.

I hope these Favorites become some of your favorites! If you try any of them, let me know what you think. What is one of your favorite things right now?
