August Favorites

August feels like it flew by. We said goodbye to summer, started back to (online) school and were able to see a few friends and family in person this month, which was so nice! I hope we never again take for granted the ability to see loved ones in person.

I have some fantastic favorites to share with you this month! I hope you will enjoy these as much as I do!

  • My friend, Valerie Griffin, wrote a devotional for women, and it is awesome! Renew: Invite the Designer to Refresh Your Heart is a 6-week study that takes us on a journey to take a fresh look at our faith as we move from weary to renewed. She writes, “Renewing your heart is a worthy endeavor because it is the place–the inner sanctuary–where you live with God. Christ not only dwells with you, but he is redesigning your thoughts, your character, your desires, and your activities to reflect his righteousness.” I highly recommend this beautifully written devotional, and think it would be such a fun one to read in a book club with friends! She sells a companion journal separately which is helpful for a place to journal answers to the questions, but it’s not required to do the study.
  • There is nothing better after a long day than climbing into a bed covered with clean, soft sheets, don’t you think? We were due for a new set and I found some that are both soft and organic! They are delightful. The company is called Simply Organic Bamboo. They are a little pricier than average sheets, but the company seems to offer discount codes fairly regularly. They are so comfy!
  • When Teavana was bought out by Starbucks a few years ago, they closed down their stores and stopped selling some of my favorite loose leaf tea blends. I’ve been searching to find a comparable tea company and ordered the Plum Deluxe Hope Blend this month to try. It is an organic green tea with jasmine, and it’s a winner! Jasmine is one of my favorite scents.
  • Maya Angelou says, “When we know better, we do better.” Continuing my quest to slowly replace our products and household items with safer versions, I needed to replace one of my old non-stick pots. I decided to order a Caraway Sauce Pan. The brand features non-toxic, ceramic coated cookware and I am loving the pan. It is SO easy to clean!
  • These Sugar Cookie Fruit Pizzas from Cooking Classy are one of the most popular and requested desserts we make when we get together with family. They are so delicious and definitely make it to my top ten desserts list. And the fruit makes them healthy, right??
  • Beautycounter’s newly formulated Sheer Genius Conditioning Lipstick is a favorite for three reasons: 1) safer beauty is important, 2) the sheer lipstick is definitely conditioning and feels so good on, and 3) the organic Madagascar vanilla scent is so pleasant! I love the Petal shade below because it gives a light pink tint to my lips. (Note: as a consultant with Beautycounter, I would receive a small commission if you order through my link.)

I hope you get to enjoy some of these favorites! I’d love to hear about one of your favorite things, too! Leave a comment and share.

Until next time, I hope you find small things that bring you great joy!
